The Sarajevo Jazz Orchestra aims to bring jazz music to a wider audience. In 2017, the Orchestra wanted to present a new musical performance that would best be described as a journey "from jazz to funk". Our task was to pack Bosnian Cultural Center in Sarajevo on New Year's Eve for a jazz concert.
We suggested New Year's jazz repertoire that incorporates more cheerful jazz standards which in the end resulted in a combination of anything from John Coltrane's "Afro Blue" to Rambo Amadeus' "Čobane vrati se" in jazz version.
Rambo Amadeus, distinctive musician, author and performer, for this occasion also appeared in the role of presenter. His mix of musical styles combined with self-conscious humor full of irony resulted in a true musical treat.
This unique musical spectacle continued after the concert at the DJazz Jam Session Stage. The audience enjoyed in a pleasant, homely atmosphere and a performances by the Sarajevo Jazz Orchestra members accompanied by DJ Drum Jay.
