The Sarajevo Big Band consists of professional musicians, members of the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra, who have continued the tradition of the RTV Sarajevo Dance Orchestra. Every year, the Band organizes a New Year's concert, and in 2016 they asked us to assist with publicity so we gladly embarked on a unique musical journey. Our task was to present their work to the wider audience and tourists which resulted in playing to a sold out crowd!
Every year, the Sarajevo Big Band brings the spirit of New Year holidays into the big hall of the Bosnian Cultural Center. The Band performes a range of classic big band tunes ranging from Sting's „Englishman in New York“ to Pharrell's „Happy“ accompanied by renowned singers.
We developed the creative concept and promotional activities having legend of the regional music scene Elvis J. Kurtovic as the Master of the Ceremony. Later we found out Elvis always wanted to record an album with the Big Band, but unfortunately, it Robbie Williams pre-emted it!
As we knew a two-hour concert would not be enough for the audience, we also created a Jam Session stage where Band members and guests performed in the informal atmosphere after the concert!
